The fact that the reed cases stick together is also a nice touch. There are clear benefits over cane reeds however the way it sounds is far more important. I must admit however that the reed is incredibly responsive and and articulation is very clear. I may even benefit from a harder reed from Bravo which I am open to try. I would say the reed was perhaps a little too sensitive. I would also say that it made my playing rather flat in places. Intonation was rather difficult to get used to, particularly in the upper registers and tone sounded harsh and unrefined (which isn’t the case when I play on cane reeds I must add). I tried various different professional Vandoren mouthpieces as I really wanted these reeds to work. I bought a strength 3 however I found it far too soft. They are also incredibly slippy against the mouthpiece and move around a little too much as there is absolutely no grip on the back of the reed. I may recommend for beginners however I wouldn’t say that they are “professional quality” as there are far too many issues- particularly the buzzing plastic tone.
